MEDIA ADVISORY: KU chancellor to speak to students at Gardner-Edgerton High School Jan. 22

WHAT: University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway will be going back to high school Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Hemenway will speak at Gardner-Edgerton High School in Gardner as part of the school's weekly lecture series. His lecture will focus on how to to succeed in college, how to get involved in the community and the importance of education. Students must sign up to attend. Past speakers include an FBI agent. KU Athletics Director Al Bohl and baseball great Buck O'Neil also are slated to take part in the series later this year.

WHEN: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22

WHERE: Lecture Hall at Gardner-Edgerton High School, 425 Waverly St., Gardner.

MEDIA WELCOME: The lecture is not open to the public, but the media may attend.
