What: Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics dedication, July 19-22, at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
The four-day dedication program will include a military vehicle display, a WWII military encampment, a 1940s fashion show; a re-created USO-style performance; an evening of dancing to the Glenn Miller Orchestra; and an outdoor concert by the 312th Army Band; the formal dedication and the opening of the new institute building.
In addition to Bob and Elizabeth Dole, dignitaries attending will include former Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, author of "The Greatest Generation"; 16 Congressional Medal of Honor recipients; and scores of World War II veterans, including Doolittle Raiders, Tuskegee Airmen, Comanche/Navajo Code Talkers, former prisoners of war, Holocaust and Pearl Harbor survivors and members of the Women's Army Corps and the Women Air Force Service Pilots.
Where: Events will take place at the Lied Center, Dole Institute, University Theatre in Murphy Hall, Spencer Museum of Art and Memorial Stadium on the KU campus; the Lawrence Municipal Airport; and the Holiday Inn Holidome convention center.

The kit includes a schedule of events; a list of dignitaries (including biographies); media coverage information (including credentialing, video pool and other issues); news releases about all the Dole dedication events; visual resources (logos, photos) for use by media; reporter resources, including contact numbers; and background details about KU and World War II, including information about Dole's college days.

Credentials: All media personnel will need official Dole Institute dedication credentials. All vehicles will need official Dole Institute dedication vehicle placards.
The Office of University Relations will issue the credentials and parking passes for the media only. All other passes -- staff, vendors, guests -- will be issued by the Dole Institute.
To apply for media credentials and parking passes, submit the following information:
1. Full name (first, middle, last)
2. Name of media organization and contact phone number
3. Indicate one of the following:

Note: The standard KU press parking passes, issued annually for use by media on the KU campus, cannot be used on West Campus or in lots 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 and 400 (Daisy Hill area around residence halls) during Dole dedication events, July 19 through July 22.
