KU Chancellor Hemenway to participate in Black Coaches Association convention

INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Kansas Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway will participate in a panel at the Black Coaches Association annual convention, which began Wednesday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Hemenway will be on a panel Friday afternoon on "Interviewing for Success." Hemenway is chair of the 18-member NCAA Division I board of directors, a position he will hold through January 2005. The appointment follows his two terms as chairman of the board for the Big 12 Conference.

The university earlier announced that longtime KU women's basketball coach Marian E. Washington, along with Clarence "Big House" Gaines and Eddie Robinson, would receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the conclusion of the BCA convention Saturday night. The convention theme is "Equity for All."
