Quartet Accorda combines sounds, cultures with pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch

LAWRENCE -- The first musical collaboration of the Kansas City-area Quartet Accorda and Van Cliburn International Competition gold medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch on piano will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in Swarthout Recital Hall at Murphy Hall at the University of Kansas.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Ioudenitch gained international recognition in 2001 when he won a gold medal at the Van Cliburn International Competition. He is one of the most sought-after pianists worldwide and is a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

The members of Quartet Accorda are violinists Kanako Ito and Ben Sayevich, KU associate professor of violin; Chung-Hoon Peter Chun, KU assistant professor of viola; and Martin Storey, cello.
