KU Graduate School to share tips on landing federal jobs March 25

LAWRENCE -- Five key pieces of information about landing jobs with the U.S. government will be part of a brown bag workshop sponsored by the Graduate School at the University of Kansas. "Employment with the Federal Government with an Academic Degree" will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in 210 Blake Hall.

Joseph Marcec, human resources specialist with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Kansas City Service Center, will share information from his 24 years of federal experience at this free workshop. His office provides human resources management assistance to federal agencies located in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.

According to Marcec, job seekers with an academic degree should know five key things. Among them is that tuition reimbursement is available at some federal government agencies and that a 3.5 grade-point average can qualify a graduate for non-competitive eligibility for certain government jobs.

This brown bag workshop is part of the Graduate School's Preparing Future Professionals program. Preregistration is not required.
