LAWRENCE -- The names of more than 4,000 candidates for degree at the University of Kansas this spring have been announced by the KU registrar.
KU's Class of 2003 numbers more than 6,200, including more than 2,200 who completed degree work last summer and fall. Because KU conducts only one formal commencement ceremony each year, many of these graduates will return Sunday, May 18, for the university's 130th commencement procession into Memorial Stadium. About 4,000 members of the Class of 2003 are expected to participate.
Faculty and graduates will assemble about 2 p.m. along Memorial Drive for the procession, which begins at 2:30 p.m. The program begins about 3:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, participants should call the KU Information Center, (785) 864-3506, or listen to local radio and television stations to learn the exact time of the commencement ceremony.
Commencement information and an up-to-date schedule of events also are available online at www.commencement.ku.edu.
Graduates are listed online by home county and state at www.ur.ku.edu/News/03N/MayNews/May13/directory.html.
Ninety-five of the 105 Kansas counties are represented. There are no graduates from these counties: Chautauqua, Cheyenne, Gove, Greeley, Kiowa, Lane, Rawlins, Smith, Stafford and Stevens.
Students' names are in the following format:

First name, last name, gender (M or F), degree, parents or guardians (P/G), name of former high school (when available)
