LAWRENCE -- The 131st commencement ceremony at the University of Kansas on May 18 will be simulcast in Woodruff Auditorium at the Kansas Union.
The ceremony will begin with a procession of faculty, graduates and dignitaries beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Memorial Drive, down Mount Oread and into Memorial Stadium.
The simulcast will be presented on a large screen in Woodruff Auditorium on the fifth level of the union. An wheelchair accessible entrance will be available on Jayhawk Boulevard. The simulcast is provided specifically for people for whom the physical conditions in Memorial Stadium would prevent their attendance at commencement.
The ceremony should conclude by 4:15 p.m.
A broadcast of the commencement ceremony will be presented by the university television station, KUJH-TV, which broadcasts on channel 14 and on Sunflower Cablevision channel 66 in Lawrence. The full ceremony will air at 7 p.m. In addition, commencement may be viewed via the Internet at www.digitaljayhawk.org. The broadcast will be archived on the Digital Jayhawk site for later viewing.
Videotape of the ceremony may be purchased for $10 at www.kustore.com.
