WHO and WHERE: University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway will visit the Max Kade Center for German-American Studies at 1 p.m. Monday, May 19.
WHAT: The chancellor will view art by Lawrence artist Nancy Bjorge that has been selected to be exhibited in Eutin, Germany, in July and August 2004.
The County Library of Eutin has invited Bjorge to exhibit her works there. Eutin is Lawrence's sister city in Germany.
Eutin librarian Wolfgang Griep was in Lawrence for a conference in March and had an opportunity to see Bjorge's works. He initiated the invitation after his return to Eutin.
Lawrence's Sister City Advisory Board supports the project. The Friends of Eutin will coordinate the exchange exhibit visit.
A selection of Bjorge's art is on display at the Max Kade Center for German-American Studies throughout May.
The public may make arrangements to see the exhibit by calling the KU Department of German Languages and Literatures at (785) 864-4803.
