KU recognizes outstanding theatre and film students

LAWRENCE -- The Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Kansas recently honored outstanding students.

Theatre students were recognized May 9 at the "Night and Day Stage Supper." Film students were honored and their film projects were shown at the first "Tensie Awards" May 16.

At the theatre supper, Brian Clinnin, Arlington Heights, Ill., received the Kilty Kane award, the University Theatre's highest honor, which is given to someone who is leaving the program and has contributed greatly to the KU theatre program. Clinnin received his master of fine arts degree in scenography May 18.

Terrence D. Jones, president and chief executive officer of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Va., received the department's Alumni Honor Citation.
