LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas will observe International Education Week Nov. 17 through 21 with a public lecture and exhibit:
The Center for East Asian Studies at KU will present "Kansas in Asia: The Experiences of the Kansas Asia Scholars" at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Ecumenical Christian Ministries, 1204 Oread Ave. Four KU undergraduate students who were selected to travel to China, Japan and Korea through a highly competitive process will share their experiences from summer 2003 as part of the center's Wine & Cheese Lecture Series.

The exhibit highlights overseas programs sponsored by the KU Area Centers. It is co-sponsored by the Center for East Asian Studies, the East Asian Library, the Center for International Business Education and Research, the Center of Latin American Studies, the Center for Russian and East European Studies and the African Studies Resource Center.
Approximately 1,700 international students are enrolled at KU. Each year 1,400 students from KU and universities throughout the country study abroad through KU's program; this fall 209 KU students are studying abroad.
