KU Writing Center to celebrate 5th birthday Oct. 13

LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas Writing Center will celebrate its fifth birthday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in 4017 Wescoe Hall.

The Writing Center, open to all KU students, faculty and staff, will offer birthday cake, door prizes and a special gift to the 15,555th visitor. The campus community is invited to attend. At 4 p.m. Writing Center staff and other campus guests will conduct a brief presentation.

The KU Writing Center, with satellite locations called Writer's Roosts, is an interdisciplinary writing support service for KU students interested in developing their writing skills. Professional writers in every field receive useful criticism from their peers and editors to help them develop, revise and polish their writing. At the KU Writing Center, students can improve their writing by working one-on-one with a trained peer consultant.
