LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas is hosting the Environmental Career Symposium from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Burge Union for students of all disciplines interested in pursuing a career in the environmental field.
From 4 to 5 p.m. in the Gridiron Room, representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, Black & Veatch, Fund for Public Interest Research, Waste Reduction and Recycling, and Tetra Tech EM Inc. will hold a career panel discussion.
An informational fair will follow from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Courtside Room. Representatives from more than 20 businesses and organizations will be on hand to interact with students and distribute materials about volunteer, internship or employment opportunities.
The symposium is a joint effort of the Environmental Studies Student Association, environmental studies program and University Career and Employment Services with sponsorship from Coca-Cola and the Environmental Protection Agency to expand the career opportunities available to students.
