LAWRENCE -- Students from seven Kansas high schools will be honored Wednesday, Oct. 29, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 215 seniors from high schools in southern Johnson County will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program at Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie, Olathe.
Honorees are listed below.
Barbara Atkinson, executive dean of the School of Medicine and vice chancellor of clinical affairs, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Kelly Norris, executive assistant for external programs, is in charge of award presentations.
The program is free to all attendees. A reception will follow.
Elaine and Mark Corder, Olathe, will serve as the site coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 86,368 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
