LAWRENCE -- Students from nine Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, Oct. 20, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 198 seniors from Johnson County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program at Blue Valley High School, 6001 W. 159th St., Stilwell.
Honorees are listed below.
Robert Hemenway, KU chancellor, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Kelly Norris, executive assistant for external programs, is in charge of award presentations.
The program is free to all attendees. A reception will follow.
Bill and Anne Blessing, Leawood, will serve as site coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 86,368 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
