LAWRENCE -- Featuring science and the arts as well as sports and entertainment, this year's University of Kansas Open House and Family Weekend promises something for everyone.
The two-day event will kick off Friday, Sept. 19, with the annual Collage Concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center of Kansas.
The fourth annual concert will celebrate the School of Fine Arts' diverse, talented community with a showcase of works by visual and performing arts students and faculty. Proceeds will benefit the KU School of Fine Arts.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, KU will conduct an open house to give current and prospective students, their families, community members and KU fans an opportunity to learn more about schools and departments across campus.
Museums will be open to visitors and campus tours will be offered. The Open House also will feature science demonstrations, informational sessions from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships and a main stage featuring singers, dancers and KU's Spirit Squad.
KU's newest buildings -- the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, Eaton Hall and the Student Recreation Fitness Center -- also will be open. Eaton Hall will offer guided tours.
