LAWRENCE -- University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway has appointed four new members to the Kansas Public Radio Advisory Board. The board helps to provide expert counsel and advice, to promote the station, to secure additional resources and to identify areas of growth for listenership, members and underwriting.
The new members are:
Mike Matson, Manhattan. Matson, communications director for the Kansas Farm Bureau, has been a frequent on-air guest during KPR fund drives. He is a former press secretary for Kansas Gov. Bill Graves.
Teresa Williams, Manhattan. Williams is well connected to the arts community in Manhattan. She began her professional career in banking and now works in the Kansas State University athletics department.
Tom Doyle, Mission Hills. Doyle, a KANU staff member during the 1960s and early 1970s, is owner and chief executive officer of Nuvidia, an Overland Park company that specializes in VHS duplication, DVD authoring, DVD/CD-R duplication, replication, printing and packaging.
Vickie Randel, Lawrence. Randel is president of First State Bank and Trust in Lawrence. Her civic involvement is extensive and she has been a longtime volunteer during KPR membership drives.
All four new members will attend their first board meeting June 10.
KPR, licensed to KU, broadcasts on KANU 91.5-FM in Lawrence, KANH 89.7-FM in Emporia, KANV 91.3-FM in Olsburg-Manhattan and K210CR 89.9-FM in Atchison.
