University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway
made the following statement today in response to the death on Dec. 23
of Philip “Flip” Kissam,
KU professor of law, in Burlington, Vt. Memorial services are pending.
“ Professor Kissam had a long and distinguished academic career. His expertise in his profession and his dedication to his students will be greatly missed.
“
On behalf of the University of Kansas, I express my deepest sympathy to Professor
Kissam’s family and friends.”
Stephen R. McAllister, dean of the KU School of Law, issued the following statement
on the death of Kissam:
“ Flip was a wonderfully engaged colleague. He was
very intellectually curious, always thoughtful and had a great sense of humor.
He was very friendly to everyone,
and he was extremely dedicated to his scholarship, his teaching and his students.
“ Everyone in the School of Law will miss him dearly,
and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and colleagues.”
