LAWRENCE -- Kansas Public Radio at the University of Kansas will provide live
coverage of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius’ State of the State address at 7 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 10. The special one-hour broadcast will include the Republican
response.
KPR News Director J. Schafer will anchor the coverage.
KPR Statehouse Bureau Chief Peter Hancock will provide legislative context
and analysis after the speech.
KPR “All Things Considered” host Laura Lorson will direct and produce
the broadcast.
“
It's become an annual tradition for KPR to carry the governor's State of the
State address live and in its entirety so that our listeners have a chance
to hear the whole message for themselves, without having to wait for a condensed
radio version of the speech or a paraphrased newspaper version the next day,” Schafer
said. “It takes a lot of work, but we consider it a public service for
our audience.”
KPR will provide its coverage via satellite uplink to High Plains Public Radio, based in Garden City; KCUR 89.3-FM in Kansas City, Mo.; and KRPS 89.9-FM in Pittsburg.
KPR, licensed to KU, broadcasts on KANU
91.5-FM in Lawrence, KANH 89.7-FM
in Emporia, KANV 91.3-FM in Olsburg-Junction City and K210CR 89.9-FM in Atchison.
KPR also can be heard on the Web at http://kpr.ku.edu.
