Campus office hours change for KU's winter break

LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas’ winter break begins Saturday, Dec. 18, and will end Wednesday, Jan. 19. Hours for campus buildings will be adjusted accordingly.

Dec. 24 and 31 are state-recognized holidays; all offices will be closed those days.

The memorial unions have varied hours of operation during the break.

Kansas Union building hours starting Dec. 18 are: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday; closed Dec. 25-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Jan. 17; and 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Jan. 18-19.

Burge Union building hours starting Dec. 18 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday; closed Dec. 19, Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31-Jan. 2 and Jan. 8-9; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 15; noon-5 p.m. Jan. 16; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Jan. 17; and 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Jan. 18-19.

The campus libraries and computer labs also will have varied hours of operation.

Anschutz Library’s hours through Jan. 17 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31-Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.

Murphy Art and Architecture Library’s hours through Jan. 17 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31- Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.

The Gorton Music and Dance Library’s hours through Jan. 17 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31- Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.

The Spahr Engineering Library’s hours through Jan. 17 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31- Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.

The Kenneth Spencer Research Library’s hours are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday; closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31-Jan. 1, and Jan. 8, 15 and 17 .MOREWatson Library’s hours through Jan. 17 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26, Dec. 31-Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.

Hours at the Herb Harris computer lab in the Kansas Union through Jan. 19 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday; closed Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Call 864-0218.

Hours at the Budig Hall computer lab through Jan. 22 are: 8 a.m.-midnight daily; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 24; closed Dec. 25; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 31; closed Jan. 1; and 8 a.m.-midnight Jan. 17. For more hours, call 864-0161.

All residence halls except McCollum Hall are closed until 8 a.m. Jan. 18. No meals will be served at the dining centers during the break.

The Natural History Museum will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1 and 17, and the Spencer Museum of Art will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
