MEDIA ADVISORY: KU chancellor to give testimony to Senate Ways and Means Subcommittee today

WHAT: University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway will testify this afternoon before the Senate Ways and Means Subcommittee on Higher Education.

The chancellor will urge legislators to cover increases the universities face in fixed employer costs such as health insurance premiums.

He also will discuss the proposed state budget's impact on:

• faculty and staff at all KU campuses
• programs at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

KU's testimony will follow Fort Hays State University's.

WHEN: 3 p.m. (or upon Senate adjournment) Monday, Feb. 9

WHERE: Room 123-S, Kansas Statehouse, Topeka
