KU to honor 31 high school seniors in Burlingame on Nov. 16

LAWRENCE -- Students from seven Kansas high schools will be honored Tuesday, Nov. 16, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.

A total of 31 seniors from Osage and Wabaunsee county high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 program at Burlingame High School, 417 N. Dacotah, Burlingame.

Honorees' names are listed below.

Lynn Bretz, director of University Relations, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Jennifer Alderdice, director of student programs, is in charge of award presentations.

The dinner program will cost parents and alumni $10 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association.
Margaret Lister, Burlingame, will be the site coordinator; and Josi Garland, Osage City, will be the Osage and Wabaunsee county coordinator.

The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. It has honored 89,875 students in the top 10 percent of Kansas high-school senior classes.
