Statement by Chancellor Hemenway on death of student James Justin

LAWRENCE -- Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway made the following statement in response to the death of James Justin, a University of Kansas freshman from St. Charles, Ill. Mr. Justin was a resident of Ellsworth Hall and died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of a noncontagious medical condition.

" On behalf of the entire KU community, I want to express my profound sorrow at the death of James Justin. We are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss of this young man and offer our heartfelt condolences to his parents, his family and his friends."
