LAWRENCE -- Students from nine Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, Oct. 18, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 201 seniors from Johnson County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7:30 p.m. program at Blue Valley North High School, 12200 Lamar Ave., Overland Park, Kan.
Honorees' names are listed below.
John Gaunt, dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Design, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Kelly Cerny, director of chapters and constituent programs, is in charge of award presentations.
The program is free for all attendees, and a reception will follow.
Bill and Anne Blessing, Leawood, are the site coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 89,875 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
