KU to honor 37 high school seniors from 2 counties on April 6 in Neodesha
LAWRENCE -- Students from seven Kansas high schools will be honored Wednesday, April 6, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 65 seniors from Neosho and Wilson county high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 p.m. dinner program at Neodesha High School, 1000 N. Eighth St.
Honorees are listed below.
Jon Swindell, KU professor of design, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Chris Lazzarino, associate editor of the Kansas Alumni magazine, is in charge of award presentations.
The dinner program will cost parents and alumni $8.50 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association.
Dennis Depew, Neodesha, will serve as site coordinator. Virginia Crane, Chanute, is Neosho County coordinator, and J.D. and Tonya Cox, Neodesha, are Wilson County coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 92,630 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
