KU to honor 201 Johnson County high school seniors Oct. 24 at Overland Park
LAWRENCE -- Students from nine Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, Oct. 24, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 201 seniors from Johnson County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program in the Performing Arts Center at Blue Valley Northwest High School, 13260 Switzer, Overland Park.
Honorees' names are listed below.
Paul Carttar, executive vice chancellor for external affairs, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Heath Peterson, interim director of the Kansas Honors Program, is in charge of award presentations.
The program is free for all attendees, and a reception will follow. Bill and Anne Blessing, Leawood, will serve as the site and county coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the Kansas Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 95,794 students in the top 10 percent of high school senior classes throughout the state of Kansas.
