KU to honor 234 S. Johnson County high school seniors at Olathe on Oct. 26

LAWRENCE -- Students from eight Kansas high schools will be honored Wednesday, Oct. 26, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.

A total of 234 seniors from southern Johnson County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program at Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie, Olathe.

Honorees’ names are listed below.

David Adkins, KU Medical Center vice chancellor for external affairs, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Jill Simpson, director for national chapters, is in charge of award presentations.

The program is free for all attendees, and a reception will follow. Mark and Elaine Corder, Olathe, will be site and county coordinators.

The KU Endowment Association and the Kansas Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 95,794 students in the top 10 percent of high school senior classes throughout the state of Kansas.
