KU provost to speak to top Crawford County high school seniors Nov. 2
LAWRENCE -- Students from six Kansas high schools will be honored Wednesday, Nov. 2, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
A total of 46 seniors from Crawford County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 p.m. dinner program at Pittsburg State University, Crimson and Gold Room, 1401 S. Broadway, Pittsburg.
Honorees' names are listed below.
David Shulenburger, KU provost, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representatives Heath Peterson, interim director of the Kansas Honors Program, and Jen Alderdice, director for Student Programs, are in charge of award presentations.
The dinner program will cost parents and alumni $9 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association.
Nancy Hoff Scott, Pittsburg, will serve as the site coordinator, and Rodney and Karen Odgers, Pittsburg, will serve as the county co-coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the Kansas Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 95,794 students in the top 10 percent of high school senior classes throughout the state of Kansas.
