KU to honor 22 high school seniors from Atchison County at Atchison on March 8
LAWRENCE — Students from three Kansas high schools will be honored Wednesday, March 8, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and KU Endowment.
A total of 22 seniors from Atchison County high schools will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 p.m. program at the Atchison Heritage Conference Center, 710 S. Ninth St., Atchison.
Honorees’ names are listed below.
Steven Hedden, dean of the School of Fine Arts, will speak. Kansas Alumni Association representative Sarah Lingeman, Kansas Honors Program coordinator, is in charge of award presentations.
The dinner program will cost parents and alumni $14 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and KU Endowment.
Chad and Carri Ball of Atchison will be site coordinators.
The Kansas Honors Program began in 1971. It has honored 95,794 students in the top 10 percent of high school senior classes throughout the state of Kansas.
