LAWRENCE — College couture and creativity come together for one night as Student Union Activities presents its own version of “Project Runway” at the University of Kansas.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Ballroom in the Kansas Union and will highlight student designers’ work. Eight finalists were chosen from 24 entries. The finalists will show their work from three challenges completed before the runway show.

A celebrity panel, including “Project Runway” season two contestant Nick Verreos, will judge. Verreos will also speak about his experience as a fashion designer and answer questions during the show.

The other judges are Ryan Gove, director of Student Resources, Wellness and Diversity at the KU Medical Center; Ashlee Broome, co-founder of the Kansas City fashion event planning company re:Form; Madison Spencer, Hollywood costumer designer for 11 years; and Megan Metzger and Hadley Johnson, owners of Spool* Inc.

The judges will select a winner for each challenge as well as one overall winner. Prizes will be awarded for each challenge, and the overall winner will receive a grand prize package that includes a $250 gift certificate to Epic Apparel, his or her design displayed in Epic Apparel’s store window and the opportunity to be featured in Epic Apparel’s fashion show.

Free ticket vouchers are available at the SUA box office. For more information, call (785) 864-3477 or visit SUA's Web site.
