Memorial service set for former KU professor Bernard ‘Bud’ Hirsch

LAWRENCE — Memorial services for former University of Kansas professor Bernard A. “Bud” Hirsch will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union.

Hirsch joined the KU faculty in 1976. He died Sept. 3 at his home. The professor and American Indian scholar was 61 years old.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the KU Center for Indigenous Nations Studies or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
