KU renews plagiarism detection service with Turnitin.com
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas will renew its subscription to the plagiarism detection service Turnitin.com.
“Given faculty members’ interest in maintaining a relationship with Turnitin.com, we worked out concerns about intellectual property and subscription costs, and renewed our contract,” said Lynn Bretz, director of University Communications.
The agreement includes a two-year contract.
Turnitin.com is a service that checks the content of papers against an online database to help detect and discourage plagiarism.
KU’s access to Turnitin.com is provided through the KU Writing Center Web site. When instructors or students submit papers, the program provides reports that help instructors and students identify plagiarism.
The University of Kansas is a major comprehensive research and teaching university. University Relations is the central public relations office for KU's Lawrence campus.
