KU student organization focuses on environmentalism with film, lecture
LAWRENCE — Student Union Activities at the University of Kansas will host two screenings of “Who Killed the Electric Car?” at 7 and 9 p.m. today at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union.
The film is being shown in conjunction with a lecture by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an ardent environmentalist, lawyer and author. Kennedy’s speech, part of the Student Lecture Series, takes place at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Lied Center. The lecture is sponsored by SUA, Student Senate and the Lied Center.
“Who Killed the Electric Car?” is a documentary by Chris Paine that shows the life and death of the electric car, as well as the role of renewable energy and sustainable living in the future. The cast includes Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks. Martin Sheen narrates.
Tickets for the movie are free with a Preferred Student Card or $2 without. Tickets for the Kennedy lecture are free for students with a KUID and $10 for the public. Tickets for both events are available at the SUA box office in the Kansas Union.
