KU on Wheels boosts bus service for Lawrence campus

LAWRENCE — KU on Wheels is improving bus service for the University of Kansas community by increasing bus frequency and making access more convenient. Below is a list of changes to its service, including key dates and additional details. Refer to new schedules online at the KU on Wheels Web site.

15th and Crestline — reroute and new schedule
Effective: Thursday, Aug. 23
The 15th and Crestline route no longer will serve Daisy Hill or Sunnyside Avenue. From the Meadowbrook and Orchard Corners apartment complexes, this route will proceed across Jayhawk Boulevard to GSP residence hall and then return to Meadowbrook.

23rd and Louisiana — new schedule
Effective: Monday, Aug. 27
KU on Wheels will add another bus to service the 23rd and Louisiana route and increase service. This route now will depart campus every 20 minutes.

Naismith/Oliver — new schedule
Effective: Monday, Aug. 27
During peak times, KU on Wheels will add another bus to service Naismith/Oliver. Service will expand between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 6:00 p.m. The buses will depart campus every 20 minutes during these peak times and every 30 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

31st and Iowa — reroute
Effective: Monday, Aug. 27
The 31st and Iowa route no longer will travel through Campus Court at Naismith. This route will continue to stop on 24th Street for students who wish to board or exit at these stops. This change is necessary so that arrivals and departures will be on time for all students serviced by this route.

Rec Center/JRP Circulator — temporary schedule change
Effective: Monday, Aug. 27
End Date: Monday, Oct. 1
While awaiting delivery of additional buses, KU on Wheels is temporarily reducing service on this route from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes. Service will return to the regular schedule sooner if the buses are delivered earlier.
