Kansas Public Radio seeking submissions for first Listener Art Show
LAWRENCE — Kansas Public Radio listeners have always had a good ear for music. Now they’ll be able to prove they have a good eye for art.
KPR is taking submissions for a juried art show called the Listener Art Show. The show is open to any artist 18 and older whose original work can be hung on a wall. A jury of three members will pick pieces for the show, which will take place in October and November at the station’s headquarters.
Artists can submit up to three images for consideration, although no more than one piece per artist will be selected for the show. Submissions can be made online at KPR’s Web site, kpr.ku.edu, or through the mail. The station’s address is 1120 W. 11th St., Lawrence, KS 66044. Applications are due by Sept. 15.
Only original fine art that is appropriately matted and/or framed is eligible. All images must be labeled with artist’s name. Artwork title, medium, dimensions and which way to hang must be indicated. Accepted artists must submit a title card and short artist’s statement.
KPR, licensed to the University of Kansas, broadcasts on KANU 91.5 FM in Lawrence, KANH 89.7 FM in Emporia, KANV 91.3 FM in Olsburg-Junction City and K210CR 89.9 FM in Atchison.
