KU chancellor issues statement on death of freshman Skyler Price

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway issued the following statement today regarding the death of KU freshman Skyler Hayes Price, 19, of Lawrence.

“On behalf of the entire university community, I offer deepest condolences to the family and friends of Skyler Price. It is always difficult to lose a loved one, especially one so young.”

Price was found dead in his room at Oliver Hall on Dec. 8. He was enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. KU police report no obvious signs of foul play. An autopsy is to be performed. Services are pending.
