KU to host Latino Leadership Summit on Feb. 20
LAWRENCE — The Office of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Kansas will host the inaugural Latino Leadership Summit on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Kansas Union.
The goal of the summit is to provide information in Spanish and English on college preparation and leadership development to the growing Latino high school student population in Kansas. The program will address issues of social adjustment, higher education preparation and leadership development as students explore their college options
Students from the Kansas City metro area, Lawrence, Topeka and Wichita who are enrolled in grades nine through 12, have at least a cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 and exhibit leadership potential and growth were invited to participate in the event.
The University of Kansas is a major comprehensive research and teaching university. University Relations is the central public relations office for KU's Lawrence campus.
