KU Alumni Association, student steering committee plan 2007 homecoming
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Alumni Association has announced its selection of students who will serve on the 2007 homecoming steering committee, according to Jennifer Alderdice, director of student programs for the alumni association.
Alderdice, who has worked at the association since 1996, will be the adviser to the student steering committee. Julie Hayes, Perry, Ga., and Jessica Ward, Johnsburg, Ill., who are studying for master’s degrees in higher education administration, will be graduate student advisers.
Two people who have served in recent years as co-directors of KU homecoming committees will be alumni advisers. They are Elissa Hudson, Olathe, who received a bachelor’s degree in design in spring 2004, and Jake Kenyon, Atchison senior. Hudson was co-director in 2003; Kenyon in 2006.
This year’s homecoming will be Oct. 27-Nov. 3. The KU football team will face Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Memorial Stadium.
The alumni association began oversight of homecoming activities in 2006. Through the years, KU’s annual fall homecoming tradition, which began in 1912, has been coordinated by various campus organizations.
