KU Alumni Association to host golf tournament Aug. 3 in Salina

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas alumni will hit the links for the North Central Kansas Jayhawk Golf Tournament at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the Salina Country Club, 2101 E. Country Club Road.

Special guests for the event are Bud Stallworth, former NBA player and member of KU’s 1974 Final Four men’s basketball team; David Lawrence, football analyst for Jayhawk Radio Network and former KU football player; and Erin O’Neil-Head, coach of KU’s women’s golf team.

Hosting the event are the KU Alumni Association and its North Central Kansas chapter, which includes alumni and friends from Cloud, Ellsworth, Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Ottawa, Republic and Saline counties.

The tournament will feature a four-person scramble format, dinner at 6:30 p.m. and prizes of KU apparel and autographed memorabilia. Proceeds will benefit the alumni association’s Jayhawk Generations Fund, which provides support for increasing KU activities throughout the state and nation. Registration is $75 per golfer for KU Alumni Association members and $85 per golfer for non-members. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100. Individual registrations are welcome, and guests who do not golf may attend dinner at a cost of $16 for alumni association members and $20 for non-members.

Representing the alumni association will be Mike Davis, senior vice president for alumni programs; Heath Peterson, director of Kansas programs; and Jim Trower of Salina, president of the North Central Kansas chapter.
