Conference to update attorneys on recent changes in law
LAWRENCE — Area attorneys will convene in Lawrence for an annual two-day conference briefing them on recent changes in the law.
Sponsored by the University of Kansas School of Law and KU Continuing Education, “Recent Developments in the Law” is set for May 31 and June 1 at Green Hall on the KU campus.
This year’s topics include updates in the following areas:
— Fiduciary duties in business entities
— The revised code for the care of children
— Kansas water law
— Civil rights litigation under 42 USC 1863
— Cybersluething the Web
— Criminal law and procedure
— Environmental law
— Copyright, plagiarism and legal ethics
— Professional responsibility
— Landlord-tenant law and evictions
Faculty for the conference are professors from KU’s law school and Terry Bullock, judge for the Third Judicial District.
