KU to provide information on college preparation to Latino high school students

LAWRENCE — The Office of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Kansas will host the second Latino Leadership Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Kansas Union.

The goal of the summit is to provide information in Spanish and English on college preparation to the growing Latino high school student population in Kansas. The program will address social adjustment, admissions processes and leadership development to help students explore their college options. Motivational speaker Carlos Ojeda Jr. will give the keynote address.

Students from the Kansas City metropolitan area, Lawrence, Topeka and Wichita who are enrolled in grades 9-12, have at least a cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 and exhibit leadership potential were invited to the summit.
