Homecoming comedy show with Wanda Sykes canceled
LAWRENCE — Because of an unforeseen taping conflict with her CBS sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” comedian Wanda Sykes has canceled her appearance at the University of Kansas.
The event was scheduled for Oct. 29 as part of homecoming activities. Student Union Activities is offering full refunds. To receive a refund, bring all purchased tickets to the SUA box office on the fourth floor of the Kansas Union. If the tickets were purchased with a credit card, that card must also be brought. Refunds may not be immediate because of state regulations but will be handled as quickly as possible.
In place of Sykes, SUA is offering half-price tickets to the Second City touring company performance that takes place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Lied Center. Tickets are available at the SUA box office or the Lied Center. With the discount, tickets are $10 for Preferred Student Card holders, $12 for KU students with valid ID and $24 for the public. The show will feature mature content. Parental guidance is suggested.
The SUA box office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more refund information, contact Rebecca Swearingen at (785) 864-2425.
The University of Kansas is a major comprehensive research and teaching university. University Relations is the central public relations office for KU's Lawrence campus.
