KU plans variety of activities in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas is once again celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Some of this year’s events include the annual Hispanic Heritage Month banquet featuring keynote speaker Jimmy Cabrera of San Antonio, Texas; presentations on the “Latino Pathway to Higher Education;” Latin cuisine night; and outings to a KU women’s soccer game and a Kansas City Wizards game.
The theme for this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month is “Celebrating Our Past, Our Future, Our Legacy!” or in Spanish, “Celebrando Nuestro Pasado, Nuestro Futuro, Nuestro Legado!”
Events are sponsored by the Centro Hispano Resource Center, Delta Alpha chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc., First Nations Student Association, Hispanic American Leadership Organization, KU Latino Council, Mu Beta chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc., Multicultural Resource Center and Office of Multicultural Affairs.
Stop by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, 145 Strong Hall, or the Multicultural Resource Center, 1530 Summerfield Drive, to pick up a copy of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month poster.
