Media advisory: Kansas Masonic Foundation’s campaign reaches goal

WHAT: A press conference will be held to announce a $2 million gift from the Morris Family Foundation that completes the Kansas Masonic Foundation’s Partnership for Life Campaign.

The Kansas Masonic Foundation launched the Partnership for Life Campaign in 2003 with a goal of raising $15 million to assist the University of Kansas Cancer Center in its efforts to achieve the National Cancer Institute’s designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Kansas Masonic Foundation began its partnership with KU Medical Center in the fight against cancer in 1974.

The Morris Family Foundation’s gift will establish the Mark and Bette Morris Family Professorship in Cancer Prevention at the KU Cancer Center.

WHERE: KU Medical Center, Lied Building, Hixson Atrium, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, Kan. Parking is available across 39th street in Lot 99 behind the Kansas Life Sciences and Innovation Center.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9
