Media advisory: Dole Institute to sponsor presidential election recap

WHAT: The Dole Institute’s second biannual Post-Election Conference will focus on this year’s intense, historic presidential election process. Featured will be veterans of major presidential campaign teams, journalists, political strategists and pollsters. Several panel discussions will address the outcome of the election and what the results mean for U.S. politics and policy.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 5

The conference will consist of four sessions:

Thursday, Dec. 4
2-3:30 p.m. Republican Nomination Contest Session
4-5:30 p.m. Democratic Nomination Contest Session
7-8:30 p.m. General Election I Session

Friday, Dec. 5
9:15-11 a.m. General Election II Session

BACKGROUND: The Post-Election Conference was created by Bill Lacy, director of the Dole Institute, and started in 2006. The conference brings together key representatives from major campaigns, political strategists, journalists and pollsters to analyze many aspects of elections from the primaries to Election Day. The conference also looks to discuss how the outcome of an election will influence the future of politics in the United States. Post-Election Conference 2008 will focus on the historic 2008 presidential election and how the Obama administration is shaping a new political landscape in Washington D.C.
