School of Pharmacy to hold annual job and internship fair Jan. 29
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy will conduct its annual Senior Pharmacy Student Career Placement Day and Undergraduate Pharmacy Student Career Information Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Lawrence Holiday Inn Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive.
More than 100 students who plan to graduate with doctor of pharmacy degrees this spring and about 120 undergraduate pharmacy students will participate in the event.
The career and summer internship placement event is coordinated through the dean’s office of the School of Pharmacy. Associate Dean Gene Hotchkiss is the school’s career placement coordinator and is responsible for planning the event.
There are more than 50 employer representatives registered to attend. They will interview and recruit senior pharmacy students for positions following graduation and undergraduate pharmacy students for summer internship positions.
The event will feature employers representing a broad scope of career pathways, including retail chain and independent pharmacy; hospital pharmacy practice; public health service/Indian health services pharmacy; pharmaceutical industry; nuclear pharmacy; specialty pharmacy practice areas such as long-term care pharmacy and compounding pharmacy; and post-graduate residency training opportunities in retail and hospital pharmacy practice and pharmacy practice management. Employers are recruiting for vacancies in Kansas and nationwide.
The School of Pharmacy provides assistance to students in the job-search and interview processes and creation of resumes and related job-search documents.
