Media advisory: KU official to testify on training program for math, science teachers
WHO: Janis Lariviere, UKanTeach program coordinator, will give testimony before the Kansas House Education Committee on the program, which aims to double the number of math and science teachers graduating from the University of Kansas

WHAT: UKanTeach is a collaborative program of KU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Education that leads to a degree in science or math as well as a teaching license in four years. The program recently received a $2.4 million grant from the National Math and Science Initiative. UKanTeach is modeled after UTeach, a highly successful math and science teacher preparation program at the University of Texas-Austin.
