Selected KU offices to have extended hours as spring semester begins

LAWRENCE — Some offices at the University of Kansas will offer extended hours Tuesday-Friday, Jan. 15-18, to accommodate new and returning students during the first week of the spring semester.

Offices will be staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on those four days, except for Friday afternoon, when offices will close at 5 p.m. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Staff in participating offices will track the number of students they help. This will help assess need for future periods of extended office hours.

The following offices, with locations or contact numbers, will have extended hours:

— Academic Achievement and Access Center, 22 Strong Hall
— Bursar’s Office, 21 and 23 Strong Hall (cashier open until 4 p.m.; refund checks until 5:30 p.m.)
— Campus phone operators, (785) 864-2700 (Automated Directory Assistance available 24 hours a day)
— College Student Academic Services, 109 Strong Hall
— Department of Student Housing, Suite DSH in Corbin Hall

In addition, the KU Card Center in the Kansas Union will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 15-18 (normal closing time is 4 p.m.).
