KU chancellor, student body president offer condolences to University of North Carolina

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway and Student Body President Hannah Love today sent the following message of condolence to James Moeser, chancellor of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, in response to the killing of UNC Student Body President Eve Marie Carson.

"On behalf of the University of Kansas, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Eve Marie Carson and to the entire University of North Carolina community. This senseless act of violence has taken a shining light not only from UNC, but from the world.

Our two universities are bound together in innumerable ways and during this difficult time we want our friends and colleagues in Chapel Hill to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. We hope and pray that those Eve left behind will find peace, and that the perpetrator of this act will be brought to justice."
