Economic adviser to U.S. Senate committee to present lecture May 7 at KU

LAWRENCE — Jeffrey M. Wrase, chief economist for Republican members of the U.S. Senate’s Joint Economic Committee, will present a public lecture as part of the Oswald Distinguished Speakers Series, sponsored by the Department of Economics at the University of Kansas.
The lecture, titled “Global Financial and Economic Fragility: How Did We Get Here and Where are We Going?,” will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Big 12 Room in the Kansas Union. The lecture and following reception are open to the public.
Before joining the Joint Economic Committee, Wrase was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s research department and adjunct professor of finance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He has published numerous articles in scholarly journals in the areas of international money and finance, macroeconomics, monetary theory and policy, and technological change.
