Princeton Review includes KU in its compilation of best business schools

LAWRENCE — According to the Princeton Review, the University of Kansas School of Business is one of the best places in the nation to get a master’s of business administration degree. The New York-based education services company features the school in the just-published 2009 edition of its “Best 296 Business Schools.”

Student evaluations submitted to the Princeton Review describe KU’s School of Business as “the best business school in the Midwest” and their professors as “second to none” who exhibit “a great blend of teaching skills and real-world experience.”

According to Robert Franek, vice president of publishing for the Princeton Review, KU was selected for its quality academic programs and activities, international accreditation and positive student evaluations. The list of top business schools was compiled based on school reported data and surveys of 19,000 students nationwide.

“We are pleased to recommend the University of Kansas School of Business to readers of our book and users of our Web site as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA,” Franek said.

“Best 296 Business Schools” has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for their selectivity and career placement services. In the KU profile, the Princeton Review editors describe KU as “providing a solid preparation for doing business in a global economy” and having “an exceptional international business program for being in the middle of the United States and far from the coasts.”

KU’s School of Business offers a full-time and evening-professional MBA program and master’s degree programs in accounting and finance. Several dual-degree MBAs are offered with law, management, pharmacy and petroleum management, as well as three international-themed dual degrees involving Latin American, European and Asian studies.
